Barkd Pay Overview
To get started with Barkd Pay simply go to your Account Settings and select Payment Information. Here you will be able to securely add your preferred bank account that you would like to receive payments to, after that you just add in your deposit fee. Once your payment method is fully set up, you will be able to use the secure Barkd Pay system to receive deposits from your interested buyers.
The way it works is simple, once you approve a buyer, they are prompted to pay your deposit amount and buyers will be able to use their preferred payment method. After the payment has been submitted, you will receive an email confirmation and the funds will be in your bank account within 2-4 business days depending on your bank.
For you, the breeder, Barkd Pay is completely free of charge. Buyers pay a small service fee which allows us to run the platform and offer protected Barkd Pay. Additionally, our fee is always listed separately from your prices which you have full control over.
Our fee amount charged to the buyer is 10% of the total cost of the dog capped at $100. This fee is explained to the buyers so they understand why they are paying it.

How do I know Barkd Pay is secure?
Barkd Pay runs on Stripe which is one of the largest most secure payment platforms in the world and is certified as a Level 1 PCI Service Provider. We never see your bank information or the buyer’s payment information as it is all encrypted and never stored on Barkd’s servers or database.
Why should my buyers pay the Barkd Pay fee?
Buyers are comfortable with paying our fee due to the peace of mind we offer. In a world where scams and identity fraud is rampant, we offer a safe and secure way for your buyers to process their payments. Additionally, since we vet all of our breeders they are happy to support us and the work we are doing.
I use Paypal, Venmo, or other payment methods already, why would I use Barkd Pay instead?
Great question, as mentioned before Barkd Pay was built for breeders and their buyers. Paypal has created many issues for breeders in the past which is one of the main reasons we decided to develop Barkd Pay. As far as Venmo, they actually have a statement in their terms and conditions that prohibits transactions regarding the sale of animals. Although this is rarely enforced if any issue ever arises the support you receive will not be ample.
