Can Dogs Eat Pineapple?
We love pineapples. Actually, everybody loves pineapples. Though generally harmless, you should consider a few things before feeding your dog pineapple. And please avoid the canned sugary stuff and go for the real thing! You’ll thank us later.

Few things taste better than a juicy pineapple, but is it safe to share with your furry friend? As with several fruits, pineapples are safe for your dog to eat as long as the correct parts are eaten in moderation.
Canned pineapple isn’t a great idea as most canned pineapple has added sugar. However fresh pineapple, with the outer skin and inner core removed, is an excellent treat for your pup. Just make sure to only use pineapple as a treat as overeating can cause upset stomach and diarrhea.
Not only is pineapple safe for your puppy, but it also has nutritional benefits. According to the AKC, “ripe, raw pineapple contains a whole lot of vitamin C, along with thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, and folate. Pineapple is also full of minerals, including manganese, copper, potassium, magnesium, iron, and small amounts of calcium, phosphorus, and zinc.” Again, be careful not to confuse the benefits of feeding your dog pineapple in small amounts with the risks of overfeeding sugary pineapple.
