Can Dogs Eat Watermelon?
There are few things more refreshing on a hot summer day than a nice, chilled watermelon… but is it safe to share with your pup?

Thankfully, yes! — With a couple of conditions, of course. Two parts of the watermelon, the seeds and skin, are completely off-limits when sharing with your furry friend. Ingesting the seeds can cause intestinal blockages while allowing your pup to eat the skin of the watermelon can cause gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhea and vomiting.
As with most human foods, it’s best to limit the amount of watermelon that you feed your pup. Too much can cause them to experience an upset stomach.
Not only is feeding your dog watermelon safe, but it can also be beneficial to their health! Watermelon is made up primarily of water and also contains several vitamins and minerals that your pup needs such as vitamins A, B6, C, and potassium. Because of its high water content, watermelon is low in calories and sodium while providing a great source of hydration for your dog.
Your dog is sure to love watermelon on its own! However, if you’re looking to step up your treat game, try one of these awesome ideas!
